About us – a personal story

Hi there, welcome to The Twin’s Treats!

​

We are Neel and Nand, twin brothers (hence the Twin’s Treats).

​

So how did The Twin’s Treats start? We were both born extremely premature at 26 weeks and weighed less than a bag of sugar (870 and 880g each!). Naturally from the beginning, our mum was strongly focused on building up our health and strength and by the age of 2 we had reached the average height and weight of an average 2-year-old!

 

Over the years, we have always been into some kind of healthy eating and we are vegetarian, so we are always looking out for different types of plant protein. 

 

However, then came the first lockdown! A couple of weeks in, our dad was fed up and decided it was ‘Christmas’ and ordered chocolates, sweets, cakes full of refined sugar and fat, every week in our weekly delivery, which we all indulged in, of course!  Our mum then decided enough was enough and banned us from eating all this and stopped ordering the ‘junk’ every week.  We were quite bored during lockdown and there was not much to do in the summer holidays, so we then decided to create health-inspired snacks using nuts, sunflower and pumpkin seeds, chia seeds, hemp seeds, natural fruit flavourings, coconut oil, almond butter and much more.  We wanted to create healthy snacks that tasted unhealthy however we were allowed to use a bit of dark chocolate! 

 

We were overwhelmed by the positive response from family and friends.  Even our little brother loved the healthy truffles, which he called ‘balls of health’!  We were delivering in our local area as well as Manchester, so we decided to market our treats on social media and this is how The Twin’s Treats was born!

 

Since then, we have been featured in 2 newspapers, delivered nationally, even Scotland and been noticed by David Haye, the 2-time world boxing champion who immensely enjoyed our treats!

 

Our mum now helps during the weekdays and we deal with the business on the weekends as we have returned to school.
